As a valued member of our team, you will be working for our well established, construction materials company with multiple production plants throughout California. Responsibilities include oversight of the maintenance and repair operations out of our main repair facility, the field’s commercial vehicles, and other associated equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. General days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours to be determined.  Not eligible for remote work. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Pay: $120k - $140k based on experience

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes

Essential Functions:
·         Identify current and future maintenance requirements in preparing vehicles and equipment for installations and repairs.
·         Direct and oversee work assignments for maintenance personnel.
·         Generate inbound/outbound service/maintenance work orders.
·         Responsible for negotiations with outside vendors.
·         Expedite services and repairs - subject to operational needs. Assure timely
 completion of all tasks by providing direction to supervisors, mechanics, technicians, and vendors.
·         Identify requirements for an annual maintenance budget, preparing recommendations for expenditures, coordinating projects with the purchasing and parts division, analyzing variances, initiating corrective action, and anticipating long-term issues.
·         Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
·         Ensure compliance with Federal and State health, safety and environmental regulations, as well as with DOT, CARB regulations and other regulatory agencies.
·         Ensure that safe work practices and conditions are maintained throughout the shop, field work areas and parts warehouse.
·         Manage remote employees in conjunction with location supervisors/managers.
·         Perform management functions including work scheduling, selection, coaching, performance and attendance monitoring, training and development, disciplinary actions, etc. of subordinate maintenance and office personnel.
·         Support training and development of personnel by reviewing new products, equipment, systems, and by discussing equipment and systems needs and modifications with mechanics and vendors, coordinating activities of technicians, workers and contractors.
·         Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

Non-Essential Duties:
·         Sign for equipment and/or vehicles in and out of the shop.
·         Generate reports as required for executive team. 
·         Provide technical support via telephone or in person as needed.
·         Perform other duties as required.

Travel Required:  Estimated 25%

Minimum Education and Experience
·         High school diploma or equivalent.
·         7+ years of experience in maintenance management within the construction or concrete industry.
·         Familiarity with concrete batching plants, mixer trucks and other equipment used in the industry.
·         Strong leadership skills to manage maintenance teams effectively.
·         Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance related to maintenance operations.
·         Vendor management and purchasing systems experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
·         Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management or a related discipline.
·         7+ years of experience in maintenance management within the construction or concrete industry.
·         10+ years of experience as fleet shop maintenance manager of a mid or large size maintenance and repair organization, preferably service and repairs of commercial vehicles, plant equipment, yellow iron, light trucks, and autos.

Mechanical school certificate and/or ASE certification(s)
